“Dieting is boring…”, “Diet foods are not tasty at all…” I am sure you’ve either heard that or said it before.
The truth is, to a certain degree that is true. But only because people don’t know how to play with food and how to keep their nutrition healthy and also tasty at the same time.
You spend at the gym only 60-120 mins of your day, but you eat 3 – 4 times a day (average) so if you want to stick to your nutrition for long enough to actually see visible and big changes on your physique, you will have to adhere to it, and for that you have to enjoy what you eat.
Lucky you, today I am going to give you a few basic tips to keep your nutrition as fun as possible. Some of these I consider them common sense, but hey a reminder never hurts 🙂
SPICES
Definitely one of the best ways to add flavor and fun to your meals. Use your favorite spices to season your foods and make them suit your taste!
Garlic, pepper, cinnamon, herbs, curry, etc. Use whatever you like to take your meals to another level.
VEGETABLES
Veggies are not only a way to hit your micronutrients intake for the day, but also a great way to add volume and taste to your meals. Mixing several veggies together is always more enticing to the eye and the palate.
Add plenty of veggies to your main meals to add taste, color, volume and fun to your meals, without skyrocketing your calories.
FRESH IN SEASON FOODS
Buying in season fruits and veggies is a really good way to add variety to your nutrition, make tasty meals that suit the mood for every season of the year and a great way to keep your nutrition fun and interesting.
Besides, certain foods are only available during certain times of the year… don’t miss out on them because you think they “don’t fit your diet”. Of course they do. You just have to make them fit it.
Food is part of every culture. Don’t miss on it. Just learn how to manage it.
TRY NEW FOODS
As a food lover myself, I love to try new foods. Not just because of the sake of trying new things to see if I like them or not, but also to find new foods that I can add into my daily nutrition to add variety and character to my meals.
Don’t be afraid to try new things. You never know what you can find and how convenient it can be for your nutrition!
NEW RECIPES
Very related with the previous one, don’t be afraid to experiment with food. I have to admit that I am the worst at this since I always eat literally the same, but it is out of laziness.
If you are lucky to not be like me, experiment with different foods: try new combinations, come up with new recipes, do your research on the internet and social media to find new healthy recipes, etc. just play with food!
There are literally endless combinations and recipes that can help you keep your nutrition exciting. Do your research and add them to your recipes library.
